Our Story

Amy and Hannah

Emli was created because every woman deserves to move with confidence through fertility, pregnancy and postpartum recovery. 

Our journey began when Amy, a pharmacist and mother, experienced fertility challenges, a complicated pregnancy and ongoing pelvic pain after birth. With support from her women’s health physiotherapist, Ali, and safe and effective exercise intervention from Hannah, an exercise physiologist, she began to rebuild her strength, confidence and connection to her body. 

That experience sparked a shared mission. We saw how many women were struggling to find safe, evidence-based exercise guidance that fit into real life. 

Together, we built EMLI. A space designed by women’s health professionals who understand the realities of motherhood. Our programs support women from preconception through postpartum recovery with movement that is gentle, evidence-based and accessible from home. 

EMLI is a place to recover, rebuild and feel strong, where you are in your journey.

Who are Emli’s programs for?

Whether you’re preparing your body for pregnancy, regaining strength after birth, or aiming to return to running, EMLI gives you the tools and guidance to move safely and confidently.

What makes EMLI different from other programs?

EMLI is designed and delivered by women’s health professionals who live and breathe evidence-based care. Every movement is grounded in Australian guidelines for exercise through fertility, pregnancy and postpartum. Our programs are safe, realistic and flexible, built to fit around real life, not the other way around. Most importantly, you’ll be supported by a team that genuinely understands what women’s bodies go through and how to rebuild strength and confidence at every stage.

Do I need to be fit or experienced to start?

Not at all. EMLI meets you exactly where you are. Whether you’re returning to movement after birth, starting fresh, or rebuilding strength after time away, our programs are designed to guide you safely at your own pace. You’ll complete assessments before progressing, ensuring every step feels achievable and right for your body.

What equipment do I need?

Our programs are designed to be done from home with minimal equipment. You’ll need a yoga mat, a resistance band, and a light pair of dumbbells or household alternatives (like filled water bottles). Some optional extras can enhance your workouts, but everything you need to begin is simple and accessible.

How soon after birth can I start exercising?

Every woman’s recovery is unique. Once you’ve had your postnatal check (usually around 6 weeks) and have medical clearance, you can begin gentle movement. Our Foundations program is designed specifically for this stage, helping you reconnect with your core, pelvic floor and breathing before progressing to higher impact exercise.
